Server hardware and software requirements
Who is this article for?IT Administrators responsible for managing the system.
No special access or permissions are required.
This article outlines the hardware and software requirements for the system if you are installing this on your own server environment. The requirements are defined for each hardware component that you will require.
These steps only apply to customers who have chosen to install the system on their own IT infrastructure. If you are using an Ideagen hosted version of the system then this article does not apply.
1. Installation scenarios
The table below describes the options for installing the system:
Scenario | Purpose |
---|---|
Single Server (IIS and SQL) - Small |
Server hosts the web application and the SQL database for a low usage organisation. Server needs to have a specification suitable to manage both parts of the product. |
Single Server (IIS and SQL) - Large |
Server hosts the web application and the SQL database for a higher usage organisation. Server needs to have a specification suitable to manage both parts of the product. |
Web/Application Server Only | Server hosts the web application only. |
Database Server Only - Small | Server hosts the database only for a lower usage organisation. |
Database Server Only - Large | Server hosts the database only for a higher usage organisation. |
2. Hardware requirements
The table below outlines the recommended minimum hardware requirements for servers based on your installation scenario.
Scenario | RAM | Processor | Disk Space |
---|---|---|---|
Single Server (IIS and SQL) - Small | 4GB | 4 cores | 75GB |
Single Server (IIS and SQL) - Large | 8GB | 8 cores | 150 GB |
Web/Application Server Only | 4GB | 4 cores | 75GB |
Database Server Only - Small | 4GB | 4 cores | 75GB |
Database Server Only - Large | 8GB | 8 cores | 75GB |
3. Software requirements
3.1. Server requirements
Software | Version |
---|---|
Operating System |
Windows Server 2022 |
SQL |
Microsoft SQL Server 2022 Microsoft SQL Server 2019 (see end of support note) |
.NET Framework | .NET 4.8 |
TLS | TLS 1.2 |
Microsoft SQL Server Express or Cloud Database-as-a-Service are not supported.
Cipher suites within supported TLS version that are not deemed secured are not supported.
3.2. End user requirements
Although some features may work on unsupported software, we cannot guarantee correct system behaviour as we have not tested IQME in these environments.
Software | Version |
---|---|
Operating System |
Windows 11 (23H2) |
Browser |
Chrome 110.0 (or higher) Edge 110.0 (or higher) Firefox 110.0 (or higher) |
.NET Framework | |
TLS |
TLS 1.2 (or higher) |
Other |
Microsoft Office 365 Microsoft Office 2021 |
4. End of support
With each release we announce which technologies that we will no longer develop for or test against. The standard term for this is deprecation.
To keep pace with evolving technology standards, certain platforms may be deprecated in an upcoming release (not necessarily the next release). Once deprecated, new features will no longer be designed or tested against these platforms, and defects specific to them will not be addressed. It does not necessarily mean the system will not function on these platforms, however support may be limited.
Release | Technology | Notes |
---|---|---|
Current Release | Operating System | Windows Server 2019 is no longer supported. |
Future Release | SQL | SQL Server 2019 will no longer be supported after 1st July 2025. |
