The Automatic File Transfer Tool is a utility for checking in and out Documents. Before starting, make sure you have Microsoft .NET 4.8 installed, and that you have created a destination folder for the transfer. This article outlines how to download and use the utility.
1. Installing the Automatic File Transfer
To install the tool:
- Log in to Quality Management.
- Click your name.
- Select User Preferences.
- Browse to the Client Tool Installers section.
- Click Download.
The default installation path is "C:\Program Files(x86)\Ideagen Quality Management Inc", but you can change this if needed.
2. Using the Automatic File Transfer
To use the tool:
- Log in to Quality Management.
- Navigate to the Document you want to edit.
- Check out the Document.
Notice the AFT prompt downloaded by the browser.
- Select your folder when prompted.
- Open the Document.
- Make your changes.
- Save the Document.
- Return to the system and check the Document in.
If you have any trouble with opening the Document or it opens directly in Word with symbols or code instead of text, the application for opening the files may have been incorrectly associated with Word or Internet Explorer instead of the AFT tool.
Change the default application in your system to resolve this issue.
