Documents and Folders can be manually rearranged in the Documents Tree in several ways. This article shows you how to make changes to the structure.

1.1. Drag and drop
Drag and drop removes a Document or Folder from its present location and adds it to a new one.
To move an item:
- Select Documents from the Navigation Menu.
- Click and hold the item you want to move.
You can only move one item at a time using this method. - Drag it to the new location.
The Folder structure refreshes with the item in its new location.
It will only inherit the security settings of the new location of the Inherit Settings from Parent option is enabled in the Security tab (in Document Properties). Display properties and General settings are not inherited.
Making one Document the Child of another through drag and drop does not create a dependency relationship. You must add one manually.
There can only be one Child Document nested under a Parent.
1.2. Cut/Copy and Paste
Cut and Paste removes a Document or Folder from its present location and adds it to a new one, while Copy and Paste adds another link to the item in a new location.
To move an item:
- Select Documents from the Navigation Menu.
- Click the item you want to move.
- Open Actions.
- Select Cut Document or Copy Document.
- Choose a new location.
- Open Actions.
- Select Paste Document.
