Reviewing a Document
Who is this article for?Users responsible for managing Documents.
Documents module access is required.
All Documents requiring your review are listed in your Inbox. This step is optional in a Document's life cycle. If the editor cancels the release at any time, the Inbox items for all remaining reviewers are removed.
Your comments are viewable in the General and History tabs of the Document Properties.
1. Reviewing a Document
- From your Inbox, select the Document link to open the file. The unpublished new revision opens.
- Review it for accuracy.
- From the Context Menu, select Review.
- When reviewing a Word Document, if the editor has chosen to use the Track Changes feature, you will be presented with both the version of the Document containing the tracked changes and the proposed published version of the Document without tracked changes.
- Enter any comments if desired.
- Select Review to submit and complete it.
A Document may be released for your review but not in your Inbox yet because your group comes later in the serial review order. If you know this is the case and want to review it before it reaches your Inbox, just go to the Document from the Documents Tree and follow the steps above to perform your early review.
