How to Use the Quick Search
Who is this article for?Ideagen Quality Management administrators using quick search.
Admin access is required.
Quick Search
The search box allows users to locate documents and workflow instances by Content, Title, or ID#. Results are displayed similarly to those found when using an internet search engine; a few lines displaying where your search "hit" as well as a link to the document or workflow are provided.
Note: Only items you have view or edit security to are returned. Also note that recently changed or created items may not show up until Ideagen Quality Management has a chance to index them.
Using Quick Search
- Enter the search term or number into the box.
- Press Enter and your results are displayed in the Main Window. Results include the search term, the line of text where the hit was found (with the search term highlighted), and a URL for its location on the server.
Note: Search terms do not have to be case-sensitive but must contain complete words. Partial matches are not returned.
Refining Searches
To increase your chances of finding an item, you should use search types to refine and improve search results. Quick Search implies wild cards at the beginning and end of single terms. Those implied wild cards are removed when search operators are entered. What follows are operators that you can use along with examples of the documents and/or workflow titles that would be returned as a result.
