Performance Recommendations
Who is this article for?Administrators reviewing system performance.
Product knowledge is required.
Ideagen Quality Management (Essentials) enables a wide variety of actions, and those actions can have a wide variety of complexity and performance based on the configuration of the Ideagen Quality Management system and the amount of data therein.
However, in an attempt to provide fundamental guidelines to help Ideagen Quality Management administrators ensure optimal user experience for their end users, we have provided the following guidelines.
Inbox
For optimal user experience, which we consider to be under a 5 second load time, we recommend any
single user to maintain under 500 Inbox items (Including Initiated items) at any given point in time. This
recommendation assumes that there are also no more than 50,000 total Inbox items across all users.
Note: If a user is experiencing a less than optimal experience and is complying with the guidelines
described above, any of the following could also lead to degraded experience:
- Number of Total Users
- Number of Total Groups
- Complexity of Group Membership
- Complexity of Group Permissions
- Number of Document Folders
- Complexity of Security Configurations
- Complexity of Workflow Permissions
- Complexity and Number of Workflow Steps
- Complexity of Inbox Display Field Values
- Number and Complexity of Email Reminders
- Local network and bandwidth
- Amount of active traffic on the Ideagen Quality Management system
Create Document
For optimal user experience, which we consider to be under a 5 second load time, we recommend maintaining under 15,000 users at any given point in time. This recommendation assumes that there are also no more than 1,000 total groups.
Note: If a user is experiencing a less than optimal experience and is complying with the guidelines described above, any of the following could also lead to degraded experience.
- Complexity of Group Membership
- Complexity of Group Permissions
- Number of Document Folders
- Complexity of Security Configurations
- Complexity of Workflow Permissions
- Complexity and Number of Workflow Steps
- Complexity of Inbox Display Field Values
- Number and Complexity of Email Reminders
- Local network and bandwidth
- Amount of active traffic on the Ideagen Quality Management system
