As part of our ongoing effort to ensure the safety of your data, we are changing the password strength requirements for Quality Management (Essentials) users to stay in line with the industry best practices. This article outlines the changes, their impact, and the recommended next steps for your organisation.

With version 2024.6.0.0, the following rules will be applied to password settings:
- Minimum Length is 8 characters.
- Minimum Non-Alpha Characters is 1.
- Minimum Mixed Case Characters is 1.
As with all password rule changes, these will only impact users who use the native authentication. It will not have any impact on users who use Single Sign-On (SSO) authentication.
3. Updating System Settings
To update your password policy:

- Switch to the Passwords tab.
- Set Minimum Length to 8.
- Set Minimum Non-Alpha Characters to 1.
- Set Minimum Mixed Case Characters to 1.
You can increase the values as required to match your company policy, but you will not be able to enter a value lower than these requirements. An error dialogue will appear to help you ensure your users are following best practice.
