Troubleshooting "Oops" errors in workflows
Who is this article for?
Administrators responsible for managing workflows.
Administrator permissions are required.
Users may encounter issues when importing workflows or working with different workflow file types. Two common challenges include receiving an “Oops” error during workflow import and confusion between .QTWF and .QTWFD file formats.
This article outlines the causes of these issues and provides steps for resolving each one.
1. “Oops” error during import
1.1. Issue
A user experiences an “Oops” error while attempting to import a .QTWF workflow file.
This error is linked to the file’s location on the system. Files stored in restricted or deeply nested directories may trigger access or path-related issues during the import process.
1.2. Solution
To resolve the issue:
- Move the
.QTWFfile to a simpler, more accessible location. - Retry the import from this new location.
- The import should complete successfully without triggering the error.
2. File format limitations
2.1. Issue
A user attempts to open a .QTWF file in the Workflow Designer expecting to edit it, but the file is not supported.
This is because:
-
.QTWFfiles are runtime export files used for importing workflows into Ideagen Quality Management (Core). -
.QTWFDfiles are editable design files created and used within the Workflow Designer.
2.2. Solution
To resolve the issue, locate and use the original .QTWFD file.
If the original design file is unavailable, the workflow must be rebuilt manually in the Workflow Designer.
