Understanding region information
Who is this article for?
Users looking to change the region information displayed in the system.
No special access or permissions are required.
There are a few places within the system that display region and time zone information.
This article explains where this information originates from and what it affects.
1. Local configuration settings
Local configuration settings control how the application behaves for users, such as:
- Displayed system time
- Date and time-based operations
- Scheduling and audit timestamps
These settings are configurable at the tenant level and any changes can be applied without impacting infrastructure. Updates take effect once configuration changes are completed and validated.
2. Region settings
The region displayed in the system represents the physical cloud data centre location where the tenant is hosted.
This is determined at the time the tenant is provisioned and reflects the hosting provider's infrastructure location. Because the region is infrastructure-based, it remains unchanged even if local configuration settings are updated.
To change the setting, you'd need to perform a full tenant migration.
The region label does not change based on local configuration updates and does not affect system functionality.
