Configuring due dates in a workflow

Managing workflows effectively requires timely actions and clear deadlines, and users often need to set due dates for workflow steps to ensure tasks are completed on schedule.
This article explains how to configure a custom due date and set up email reminders to notify users of approaching deadlines.
1. Configuring due dates
To configure a set due date in a workflow:
- Navigate to the workflow step where you want to add a due date.
- Add a custom Date field to capture the due date.
- Next, go to Administration.
- Select Email Reminder.
- Set Reminder type to Approaching Due Date.
- In the Inbox section, choose the specific step for which the reminder should be triggered.
- Define the Offset frequency.
This is the number of days before the due date the reminder should be sent. - Set Late Determined By section to Custom Date.
- Select the custom date field created earlier to serve as the reference for the due date.
Note
While setting the email reminder up is optional, we recommend doing so as without it, the system will not notify users of upcoming deadlines..
