Troubleshooting issues with workflows getting stuck
Who is this article for?
Administrators responsible for managing workflows.
Administration permissions are required.
Workflows are essential for automating and tracking business processes. However, misconfigurations, especially in route settings, can lead to workflows getting stuck, causing delays and user frustration.
This article outlines a common scenario where a workflow failed to progress due to a time delay setting and provides guidance on how to identify and resolve the issue.
1. Issue
Users may encounter a situation where a workflow does not move to the next step after clicking the route button.
The workflow status remains unchanged, and no action is recorded in the workflow history. This can lead to confusion and delays in task completion.
2. Resolution
To resolve the issue:
- Go to the Administrationsection.
- Select Workflows.
- Open the workflow experiencing the issue.
- Open the route configuration.
- Look for the Time Delay field.
If a delay is set, this is likely causing the workflow to pause.
- Change the time delay to 0 if immediate progression is needed.
- Click Save Changes.
After making the changes, retry the workflow route to make sure it now progresses as expected.
