Why would an error occur when trying to save a group name?

2. Answer 

If a group has been disabled, that name cannot be used for a new group. To confirm this issue is causing the error, try saving the group name as something unique. If that group name must be used, re-enable the old group, change the name, and then proceed with adding the new group with that name.
