How to Address Issues Where the Upgrade Tool Stalls at Taking the Service Offline

During an upgrade to Ideagen Quality Management, the tool stalls at taking the service offline.
To make troubleshooting this issue easier to learn, this article is split into three sections so that you can either walk through the steps in sequence or you can jump to the section relevant to what you are finding:
1. Issue Experienced
This section will explain what occurs when the customer is experiencing the issue.
The upgrade tool sat at the point of taking the Ideagen Quality Management service offline. It was thought the path was the cause for this and due to how the other folders looked we chose an incorrect path. This led to the database logging an error about connection to the application.
2. Resolution
This section will provide the resolution for the upgrade tool stalling at taking the service offline:
- The Operational Engineering team joined Support to determine the issue for why the upgrade tool would stall at taking the service offline.
- It was discovered that the web path in the SY_Configuration table had a newline character at the end in the database table.
