How to Address Issues with Word Not Opening After a Document Has Been Checked Out

Customers may encounter issues with Word not opening after a document has been checked out with the Automatic File Transfer (AFT) tool.
To make troubleshooting this issue easier to learn, this article is split into three sections so that you can either walk through the steps in sequence or you can jump to the section relevant to what you are finding:

This section will explain what occurs when the customer is experiencing the issue.
The customer will have noticed that Word does not open automatically when a document has been checked out from Ideagen Quality Management using the AFT tool. This happens due to insufficient permissions to the set working folder.

- Open Windows File Explorer and go to the path for the working folder.
- Right-click on the folder and select Properties.
- In the Security section make sure that the user has at least Read, Write, and Modify to the location.
