1. Question
Why would reports exported from Ideagen Quality Management look different in Excel?
2. Answer
The reports are written in text only, with commas delimiting the columns and Excel processes that data differently upon import/open. To correct this you can set up a document with specific format types before opening the downloaded report.
- Open Excel and create a new blank document.
- Go to the Data tab, and select Text as the document type to import.
- Browse to your exported report file and begin the import wizard.
- When you reach the section where you can specify a data type for each column, select Text as the type. (instead of general, date, etc.)
