What would cause an unexpected (uh-oh) error when trying to run a report on a workflow that you know you have instance and definition access to?

The error in the Ideagen Quality Management logs looks like the one below.
Exception message: Column 'Id' does not belong to table Table.If the report uses transition dates as fields it will need to have the System ID as a field in the report.Exception stack trace:
