What are the installation components of Ideagen Quality Management?

Ideagen Quality Management consists of three main components that make up the server side installation.

1. Application - (web server) the application consists of the website, server, and third-party tools. The typical size of the application portion is about 300MB. This can differ depending on the custom work that may apply to the installation.
2. Document Repository (on web server) - the document repository is where we store the actual document files themselves. This will typically be the largest part of any Ideagen Quality Management installation. This does depend greatly on how Ideagen Quality Management is used. On average we typically see 1,000 documents taking up about 1GB of hard drive space. With that being said it is still dependent upon how many revisions of each document exist. The more revisions of each document the larger the repository will get. We should be safe to estimate based off the count of unique documents ids in the system. For example if a customer has 20,000 unique documents they would probably take around 20GB of space to store those documents.
3. Database - the database is the historical record of Ideagen Quality Management. This means it contains all metadata about each documents history and audit trail. It also contains all of the sites workflow data. Sites that use more workflows will have a larger database than document repository. We typically don't see the database grow larger than 2GB. However, this is fully dependent on the how much metadata and workflow data exist in the Ideagen Quality Management database. One of our largest customers databases is about 5GB, however this customer heavily uses both documents and workflows.

Typical installs of Ideagen Quality Management have two servers, one is the web (application) server and one is the SQL database server.
