1. Question

What needs to be changed when the web server's IP address or the name changes?

Ideagen Quality Management IP Changes:

• Mail and SQL servers often require that the IP for the web server is whitelisted for mail relay and/or network access to SQL and mail servers.
• IP's should not be be used in in URLs to access Ideagen Quality Management in general, but if they are, users will need to be advised to update their URLs and the System Settings > Web tab should be updated with the new URL in order to prevent issues with links generated in Ideagen Quality Management.
• If a fully qualified domain name is used to to access Ideagen Quality Management in its URL, then the DNS entry may need to be updated to point at the new machine name depending on configuration.

Ideagen Quality Management Server Name Changes:

• If the machine name of the Ideagen Quality Management web server is used in the URL to access Ideagen Quality Management the settings will need to be changed. Update the URL in the System Settings > Web tab with the new URL in order to prevent issues with links generated in Ideagen Quality Management.
• If a fully qualified domain name is used to to access Ideagen Quality Management in its URL, then the DNS entry may need to be updated to point at the new machine name depending on configuration.
