Preparing for the Ideagen Hub integration
Who is this article for?
Customers that are migrating to Ideagen Hub.
Administrator permissions are requried.
This article walks you through what to expect and what actions are required at each stage of your upcoming migration to Ideagen Hub.
1. Admin preparation
Your organisation may have a mix of users - some logging in via Single Sign-On (SSO) and some via a standard (native) Ideagen Quality Management login. Please read all sections below, as the actions differ depending on how each user logs in.
Regardless of login type, all users must review their Ideagen Quality Management login name before migration begins.
1.1. SSO users
Each user's Ideagen Quality Management login name must be set to their email address before migration. If a login name is not in email format, it will be automatically overwritten with the user's SSO email address during migration - and the user will no longer be able to use their original login name.
Ask your SSO users to update their Ideagen Quality Management login name to their email address before migration begins.
1.2. Native login users
Each user's Ideagen Quality Management login name must be a valid username - it must not contain spaces or special characters. Users with a login name that does not meet this requirement may be unable to log in after migration.
Ask your native login users to check their Ideagen Quality Management login name and update it if needed before migration begins.
3. IT Admin preparation
3.1. SSO users
SSO migration does not happen automatically - your IT team must configure your Identity Provider (IdP) and return the required information to Ideagen before we can begin. Forward this section to your IT Administrator.
| Step | Milestone | Who it affects |
|---|---|---|
| Step 1 | Ideagen sends Entity ID and Reply URL | SSO customers |
| Step 2 | IT team configures IDP and submits metadata template to Ideagen | SSO customers |
| Step 3 | SSO test accounts migrated and validated | SSO customers |
| Step 4 | All users migrated to Hub | All customers (Native + SSO) |
You can find the detailed process in our article on configuring your Single Sign-On (SSO) for Ideagen Hub.
3.2. Native login users
No IT configuration is required for native login users. When your organisation is migrated, these users will receive a welcome email from Hub and will be prompted to complete a one-time password reset before logging in.
Note
We will confirm the specific migration date for your organisation in a follow-up communication. If your organisation contains a mixture of native and SSO users, both will migrate together in Step 4 above.
You can find more information about what will happen following the migration in our article to getting started with the integration.
