Understanding the Ideagen Please Review integration
Who is this article for?
Users and administrators interested in the Please Review integration.
No special access or permissions are required.
This article outlines what you need to know to enable the integration and run collaborative draft document reviews inside Ideagen Quality Management Core.
Overview
From Ideagen Quality Management Core version 2026.10.0.0, editors can run a collaborative draft review on a controlled document before it goes for approval. Reviewers comment and mark up the draft in an embedded Ideagen Please Review window, and the reviewed file returns when the review is completed.
The integration is for Ideagen Quality Management Core customers on Hosted Standard who also have an Ideagen Please Review subscription.
Understanding costs and licensing
Is there a cost for the integration?
No. If you have both products, the integration itself comes at no extra charge. You still need a Please Review subscription, and licences are per user.
Who uses a Please Review licence?
The review owner and each participant, while the review is open. The licence is released when the review is completed.
Understanding the review process
Does a review approve the document?
No. Sign-off stays in Ideagen Quality Management Core. The editor then continues, for example by releasing the document for approval.
How do I create a review?
Choose participants when you create the document, select Create Draft Review, then start the review. Participants add comments in the embedded window, and the author completes the review. See Creating reviews using the Ideagen Please Review integration.
Checking system requirements
Which version of Ideagen Quality Management Core is required?

Editors and participants active in both products and linked to Mazlan Home can use the integration.
Which browsers are compatible?

- Mozilla Firefox
Which file types are supported?
doc, docx, docm, dot, dotm, dotx, rtf and pdf.
Which languages are supported?
The review window is in English only.
Setting up the integration
How do we set it up?
Setup is self-service and the integration is off by default. A Please Review sysadmin generates the access key, and an administrator enters it in Ideagen Quality Management Core. See Enabling the Ideagen Please Review integration.
How do I get the access key?
A Please Review sysadmin creates a trusted client and generates the key. See Generating trusted clients access keys in the new UI. For customers using the Please Review legacy UI, see Generating trusted clients access keys in the legacy UI.
Where does the key go in Ideagen Quality Management Core?
To enter the access key:
- Go to Administration.
- Select System Settings.
- Choose Please Review.
Important: An Ideagen Quality Management Core administrator with System Setting Administration permission is required to complete this task.
Do we need to do anything with our existing documents before enabling the integration?
Yes, check in any checked-out documents before you turn the integration on.
Configuring network and workgroup settings
Are there any network considerations?
You must allow your Ideagen Please Review site on your network. A web filter or proxy that blocks it can make the review window blank.
Which Please Review workgroups are the reviews created in?
Reviews are created in Please Review workgroup 1 by default. Contact Ideagen Support to use a different workgroup.
